The average pay for loan officers is impressive, at $192,339, based on Indeed’s findings. Plus, these jobs often come with the chance to work remotely or in a hybrid setting. Indeed’s job listings show that about 75% of loan officer positions include these flexible work options.
What do loan officers do? They help people and businesses apply for loans. This includes looking over financial paperwork and guiding borrowers through their loan applications.
The need for loan officers is rising, especially in areas like real estate, education, retail, and e-commerce, all feeling the pinch from rising prices and a tight housing market. Scott Dobroski from Indeed says that even though banks are being more careful about giving out loans due to worries about a recession, there’s still a strong need for mortgages. “Loans are always going to be in demand, even if it changes a bit,” Dobroski points out.
